FLOWERS CAPTURED ON FILM
I’ve recently fallen back in love with film photography after purchasing a 3D-printed large format camera from Intrepid Cameras in Brighton. Inspired by a fellow photographer, I’ve rediscovered the joy of slowing down and taking the time to create the perfect shot within the camera.
This process has led me to photograph flowers with this beautiful camera using a 150mm standard lens, spending quiet, peaceful moments waiting for just the right light to capture these beauties in their full glory.
I have also brought my old Nikon 35mm film camera along with my Maymia RZ 67 back into work, the process of choosing the shot, waiting for the light taking the photograph and sending them off for processing is something timeless about not having the picture instantly and just adds to the joy of the process and the result.
There is something about the grain and colour that you get when working with film—it just comes alive, creating a depth and richness that brings out the absolute best in these flowers.
